On the occasion of the peer-to-peer learning Sabine Falk (project assistant in the Reallabor Hal-le/ Saale) visited the New Year's Reception of the City of Mannheim on 6 January 2020 to look over the shoulder of Laura Kaiser (project assistant in the Reallabor Mannheim) for a day during the work shadowing. Mannheim clubs, universities, groups, companies, associations and other institutions had the opportunity to present themselves on two levels, the third level was dedi-cated to the motto "Environmentally conscious living in Mannheim". Around 10,000 citizens came with the aim of finding out about numerous initiatives, projects and measures in the city in addition to the festive program.

Ms Kaiser and the entire team from the Climate Protection Control Center and the Climate Pro-tection Agency had prepared several information stands and activities for this purpose. Ms Falk accompanied Ms Kaiser during the day as part of the work-shadowing. Her tasks included look-ing after the "Front garden: green instead of grey" stand of the Climate Protection Control Cen-tre. At the stand, the citizens received useful information about the municipal support program for greening roofs, facades and unsealed surfaces as well as the advantages of green front gar-dens.
The exchange about the design of the promotion, the demand and communication with citizens directly at the information stand as well as the use of different advertising media was very im-pressive for the colleague from Halle (Saale).

Conclusion: The shadowing gave Ms. Falk a valuable insight into the daily work routine, the sensitivities and structures in Mannheim and Ms. Kaiser was able to reflect on her own actions and gain new impulses in her daily work. Both are now looking forward to the return visit to the Work-Shadowing in Halle (Saale).
