What is it about?
ESPRESSO, systEmic Standardisation apPRoach to Empower Smart citieS and cOmmunities, forms a network of various stakeholders and experts (SmaCStak) working for standardized smart city framework. Established Smart City coordination group facilitates the communication and cooperation between the project participants and external stakeholders such as cities, standardization organizations or other EU-projects. The project draws special attention to dialogue between different actors, identification and sharing of best practices and engagement of business and stakeholder communities.
ESPRESSO researches, analyzes and evaluates the existing smart city frameworks and standards and designs pilots to test the usability of the currently available sets of standards in the partner cities. One of ESPRESSO’s main objectives is to identify a set of open smart city standards that work well together (“conceptual standards framework”). ESPRESSO will develop a common language and a city information & indicator platform that can be applied in different cities. Moreover ESPRESSO develops a business framework and a strategic growth map for cities.
